On July 10, 2020, the Superior Court of Alameda County (Court) extended the stay on execution of writs of possession issued in unlawful detainer matters to August 16, 2020. Subsequently, on July 28, 2020, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors voted to extend the current moratorium on evictions in Alameda County from September 30, 2020, to December 31, 2020.
Today, the Court announced that it has further extended the stay on execution of writs of possession to December 31, 2020. That extension is set forth in amendments to emergency Local Rule 1.8a, along with amendments that, among other things, remove prior limitations on motions that may be filed in unlawful detainer actions.
In addition to the above, the Court today also adopted clarifying amendments to emergency Local Rule 1.10a.
