ISSUE WITH LASC CIVIL EFILING SYSTEM

Journal Technologies, the provider of the LASC Civil eFiling system, has issued the following statement regarding the recent document issues filers may have experienced:

During the time period between February 17, 2022, and February 24, 2022, there was an issue with the Journal Technologies E-Filing Manager (EFM) for Civil cases filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court. The problem was isolated to Los Angeles Superior Court Civil eFiling and did not affect any other courts services by the Journal Technologies EFM.

The issue arose when the filer added multiple documents of the same name to their transaction. In some instances, the separate filings were associated incorrectly to the same image, thus creating an inaccurate record on the case.

Journal Technologies became aware of the issue and immediately resolved the issue for all transactions that the Court had not yet processed. We continue to analyze those that were processed to determine how many entries have incorrect images, and what the next steps to resolve the issue will be.

If you come across any such transactions (document image does not match the entry), please report the specific case number, transaction ID, and filing document so that we can work with you to resolve these issues in a timely manner.

At this time, unless a filing identified as inaccurate is urgent (affecting trial, hearing, default, etc), please communicate through your EFSP and Journal Technologies and not the Los Angeles Superior Court. Though they are aware of the situation and are working with Journal Technologies to develop a solution, they will not have any more information than Journal Technologies at this time.

If you have any questions as a filing party, please work with your EFSP to convey the information to Journal Technologies. For EFSPs, please compile any information from your filers and provide this information to Journal Technologies. We will work out a process for updating any inaccurate transactions in the Court’s case management system and return appropriate copies to the filing parties.
