PRESIDING JUDGE ERIC C. TAYLOR, JUDGE RUTH ANN KWAN, AND JUDGE HELEN ZUKIN TO PROVIDE PERSPECTIVES FROM THE BENCH DURING IMPLICIT BIAS TRAINING
Presiding Judge Eric C. Taylor, Judge Ruth Ann Kwan, and Judge Helen Zukin will be panelists next month for the “Joint Implicit Bias Training with Perspectives from the Bench” MCLE webinar.
Conducted by consultants Carol Ross-Burnett and Camille Gear Rich, the free 2-hour program is certified for 2.0 Elimination of Bias credits. The program will focus on implicit bias based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disability. Through DEI data and evidence-based learning, the training will encourage reflection and continued dialogue about implicit bias, microaggressions, and other forms of bias that show up in legal proceedings in and outside the courtroom. Designed for plaintiff and defense counsel with perspectives from the bench, the training will include real-life scenarios to demonstrate both individual bias and systemic racism in courtroom and legal settings and the successful adoption of bias interrupters during such scenarios.
CAALA President Genie Harrison and ASCDC President-Elect Marta Alcumbrac will join the judges on the panel.
