Governor Gavin Newsom implemented a Regional Stay-At-Home-Order on December 3, 2020, based on limited ICU bed capacity. On December 6, 2020, the Southern California Region fell below the capacity threshold. As a result, on December 7, 2020, the Court suspended jury trials through December 31, 2020. Subsequent orders were issued to continue the suspension of jury trials through February 26, 2021.
On January 25, 2021, the Governor lifted the Stay-At-Home Order. Accordingly, the Court will not be renewing the current suspension order at this time, and jury trials will resume beginning on March 1, 2021.
