In an effort to promote the health and safety of court users and employees as well as mitigate community spread of the COVID-19/Coronavirus during this pandemic, the Stanislaus County Superior Court has suspended all non-emergency services. Please do not come to court unless you have an emergency issue or your matter is being heard pursuant to the following list which is effective March 23, 2020 to April 16, 2020:
CRIMINAL
- Criminal arraignments will be heard daily
- No Time Waiver (NTW) preliminary hearings will be heard
The Court will reschedule:
- All time waived jury trials
- All time waived preliminary hearings
- All pretrials, law and motion hearings, and miscellaneous hearings
CIVIL (Including Probate)
- All request for Civil Harassment Restraining Orders will be heard
- Claims of Exemption will be heard
- Unlawful Detainer cases will be heard in Department 10 until further notice; filings will be accepted at the Turlock Division
The Court will reschedule and provide notice for:
- All civil trials except Unlawful Detainers
- Case Management Conferences
- Mandatory Settlement Conferences
- All Small Claims matters
- Law and Motion matters will be rescheduled per Tentative Rulings
TRAFFIC
The Court will reschedule and provide notice for:
- All traffic infraction matters
JUVENILE JUSTICE/DEPENDENCY
- Detention hearings in both Juvenile Justice and Dependency case types will be heard
The Court will reschedule and provide notice for:
- Other proceedings unless the parties do not consent to a continuance and extended emergency time periods have expired
FAMILY
- Temporary Emergency Orders will be heard as follows:
- Domestic Violence Restraining Orders
- Gun Violence cases
- Emergency Orders for Child Custody (Family Law and Guardianships)
The Court will reschedule and provide notice for:
- All trials and long cause hearings
- Request for Orders (except Temporary Emergency Orders)
- All family court and mediation matters
GUARDIANSHIP/CONSERVATORSHIP (Including LPS)
- Petition for Appointment will be heard
- Requests for Temporary Guardianship/Conservatorship (Including LPS) – Temporary orders may be issued without hearing and will be effective for 30 days
The Court will reschedule and provide notice for:
- All other hearings
DCSS
The Court will reschedule and provide notice to DCSS for:
- All DCSS cases
- DCSS will continue to e-file motions and hearings will be set no earlier than June 1
SELF-HELP CENTER
- Services will only be provided on-line and by phone Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

COURT CLERK’S OFFICES
- Clerk’s Offices are closed until further notice; drop boxes are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
