LASC: SUPERIOR COURT OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO PILOT LACOURTCONNECT FOR REMOTE APPEARANCES IN SELECT JUVENILE JUSTICE COURTROOMS
Pilot Launch Begins July 28 in Select Juvenile Justice Courtrooms at the East Los Angeles and Pomona South Courthouses
Beginning Monday, July 28, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will pilot the latest version of LACourtConnect (LACC), the Court’s updated free remote courtroom appearance technology, in select Juvenile Justice courtrooms for attorneys and litigants who wish to appear remotely.
LACC will be available for remote appearances in the following Juvenile Justice courtrooms:
- East Los Angeles Courthouse
- Department 201
- Department 202
- Department 203
- Department 204
- Pomona South Courthouse
- Department 282
Before July 28, attorneys and litigants appearing remotely in these courtrooms will continue to receive a Webex link directly from the courtroom to access their hearing. After July 28, participants must use the LACC welcome page, select Juvenile Justice as their litigation type, and locate their hearing using a case number, calendar, or name search.
LACC is a simplified, modernized remote appearance platform that enables attorneys and litigants to appear for court hearings virtually using Microsoft Teams without needing advanced registration. Key features of LACC include:
- Same-Day Check-In: Participants may check in a few minutes before their hearing.
- Standard Microsoft Teams Features: Provides greater platform stability and ease of use, with a streamlined experience for attorneys and litigants alike across all devices.
- My Checked-In Hearings Feature: Allows users to manage multiple hearings in one location.
- Attorney of Record Feature: Attorney of record with multiple proceedings on the same day also has the option to check into additional same-day proceedings upon check-in.
Participants will receive a Microsoft Teams link to join the courtroom’s virtual meeting room once they check in. After joining, they will receive instructions to stand by until their matter is ready to be called. The Court will share details about the broader rollout of LACC to additional courtrooms in a future announcement.
