LASC: FAMILY LAW JUDICIAL ASSIGNMENT CHANGES AT THE CHATSWORTH COURTHOUSE

Effective July 28, 2025, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County’s Family Law Division will implement the following changes to courtroom operations at the Chatsworth Courthouse located at 9425 Penfield Ave., Chatsworth:

• Commissioner Kendra Thomas will be assigned to Department F40. Department F40 will open as a Family Law courtroom. All matters previously assigned to Commissioner Thomas will remain assigned to Commissioner Thomas in Department F40 for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.
• Judge Emily J. Cole will be assigned to Department F58, which remains a Family Law courtroom. All matters previously assigned to Judge Cole and/or Department F58 will be assigned to Judge Cole for all
  purposes, unless otherwise notified.

All matters currently calendared shall remain scheduled on the dates and times previously set. Counsel and parties are instructed to indicate the assigned judicial officer and department on the first page of all documents filed with the clerk to ensure proper departmental assignment, calendaring of hearings and document routing.
