LASC: Mental Health Division to Transition to LACourtConnect for Remote Hearings Beginning August 11
Webex Will No Longer Be Used for Remote Appearances in Mental Health Courtrooms After August 11
Effective August 11, 2025, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will expand the use of LACourtConnect (LACC), the Court’s updated free remote courtroom appearance technology, to all Mental Health courtrooms. This transition marks the next phase in the Court’s efforts to streamline and modernize remote access to court proceedings.
Using LACourtConnect
Beginning August 11, litigants and attorneys appearing remotely in Mental Health matters must use LACC to access their hearing. Webex will no longer be used for remote appearances in these courtrooms. LACC is a free, simplified, and modernized platform that enables court users to appear remotely using Microsoft Teams without the need for advanced registration. To appear remotely, users must visit the LACC welcome page, select “Mental Health” as their litigation type, and search for their hearing by case number, calendar or name.
Key features of LACC include:
- Same-Day Check-In: Participants may check in shortly before their scheduled hearing.
- Platform Consistency: A streamlined experience using Microsoft Teams across all supported devices.
- My Checked-in Hearings: Allows users to view and manage multiple hearings in one place.
- Attorney of Record Convenience: Attorneys with multiple hearings on the same day may check in to all of them with a single login.
Once checked in, users will receive a Microsoft Teams link to join the courtroom’s virtual meeting room and will be instructed to stand by until their matter is ready to be called.
Additional Resources:
The following resources are available to assist court users in navigating LACC.
Additional support resources are also available on the LACC welcome page.
The platform promotes convenience and choice, offering audio and video remote appearance options that eliminate the need for driving, parking, and childcare costs while saving time on commutes to courthouses. LACC 3.0 is compatible with Windows PC, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android devices that support Microsoft Teams.
