Monterey County Superior Court: Notice of Conversion to eCourt and Temporary Changes to Electronic Filing and Telephone Hours

Court Notice

Notice of Conversion to eCourt and Temporary Changes to Electronic Filing and Telephone Hours

The Monterey County Superior Court will be transitioning to a new case management system, eCourt, effective January 20, 2026. To ensure a smooth conversion process, please observe the following important deadlines and filing requirements:

  • Effective Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. electronic filings will no longer be accepted via the court’s electronic filing system, File & Serve.
  • Only paper filing will be allowed between January 5, 2026, and January 19, 2026.
  • Effective Tuesday January 20, 2026, electronic filing will resume for all case types via Journal

Technology’s Court Portal. Additional information and a web address will be posted on the court’s website in the coming weeks.

From Monday, January 5, 2026 through January 19, 2026, the Court will only accept paper filings for all matters, which must be accompanied by the appropriate filing fees.

Any questions regarding the status of specific filings, filing and calendaring timeframes, or applicable filing fees should be directed to the appropriate division directly.

All documents submitted for filing must conform to the California Rules of Court Title Two.

Due to system upgrades, January 5, 2026, through January 30th, 2026, the court’s public phone lines will be reduced to 8:30 am to noon. Phone lines will return to normal beginning February 2, 2026.

The Court appreciates the patience and cooperation of counsel, the public, and our justice partners as we work to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption.

First Legal is prepared to print and hand-file your documents with the court while their eFiling system is offline. Simply submit your documents to your local First Legal court department, and we will handle the rest.
