LASC: Family Law Judicial Assignment Changes at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse and the Santa Monica Courthouse
The Family Law Division will implement the following changes to courtroom operations at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, located at 111 N. Hill St., Los Angeles, and the Santa Monica Courthouse, located at located at 1725 Main St., Santa Monica:
Effective Sept. 8, 2025:
- Judge George Bird will be assigned to Department 84 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department 84 will be assigned to Judge George Bird for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.
- Judge Elizabeth Scully will be assigned to Department D at the Santa Monica Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department 35 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse will be transferred to the Santa Monica Courthouse and remain assigned to Judge Elizabeth Scully for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.
- Judge Michelle Kazadi will be assigned to Department E at the Santa Monica Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department E will be assigned to Judge Michelle Kazadi for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.
Effective Sept. 15, 2025:
- Judge Brenda Comer Robinson will be assigned to Department 87 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department 87 will be assigned to Judge Robinson for all purposes, unless otherwise notified.
- Judge Scott J. Nord will be reassigned from Department 2B to Department 35 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. All matters previously assigned to Department 2B will be reassigned to Department 35,
unless otherwise notified. Upon reassignment, Department 35 at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse will cease being a Dedicated Trial Court and will be a Home Court. Department 2B at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse remains unassigned at this time.
All matters currently calendared shall remain scheduled on the dates and times previously set, unless otherwise notified. Counsel and parties are instructed to indicate the assigned judicial officer and department on the first page of all documents filed with the clerk to ensure proper departmental assignment, calendaring of hearings and document routing.
