From 12 – 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, for a virtual workshop on the judicial vetting and appointment process sponsored by the Court’s Judicial Mentor Program. Featured speakers and panelists include Judges Audra Mori (Judicial Mentor Program Chair), Sergio Tapia II, and Helen Zukin (Judicial Selection Advisory Committee Chair), as well as attorneys Adam Hofmann (Judicial Nominees Evaluation Commission Chair) and Catherine Barrad (LA County Bar Association’s Judicial Appointments Committee Chair).
Panelists will share the role of their respective office or committee in the vetting and appointment process and will take questions from the audience.
“We are proud of to offer this invaluable opportunity for attorneys to glean information on judicial vetting and appointments directly from the individuals who play a role in the process,” Presiding Judge Taylor said. “Through the continued work of the Judicial Mentor Program, our Court remains committed to sponsoring educational opportunities that support the appointment of highly qualified judicial officers reflective of our county’s rich diversity.”
In addition, representatives from various bar associations that offer application and/or vetting support will be in attendance and will give short explanations of the support they offer candidates.
