LASC: Superior Court of Los Angeles County Launches Courtroom Broadcast Feature for Attorneys and Litigants in Family Law Courtrooms at Stanley Mosk Courthouse Beginning August 4
Courtroom Broadcast Feature to Launch in All Family Law Courtrooms at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse
Starting August 4, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County will launch a new Courtroom Broadcast feature for attorneys and litigants as part of LACourtConnect (LACC) in all Family Law courtrooms at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse. This feature will enhance the remote hearing experience for court users.
The Courtroom Broadcast feature will enable checked-in litigants and attorneys with multiple hearings scheduled on the same day to monitor these hearings from Stanley Mosk Courthouse Family Law courtrooms via a centralized viewing pane, without needing to enter the remote hearing. This feature will work in conjunction with LACC’s existing My Checked-in Hearings feature, which enables users to check in for multiple hearings at once and view all checked-in hearings in one location. Courtroom Broadcasts will allow court users to monitor other hearings in a courtroom and join their own hearing when it is about to begin.
Accessing the Courtroom Broadcasts Feature
Attorneys and litigants wishing to appear remotely in Stanley Mosk Courthouse Family Law courtrooms can access Courtroom Broadcasts by visiting LACC’s welcome page, selecting Family Law as their litigation type. Once selected, users will be directed to a page for same-day check-in. They can search for their hearing by case number, courtroom calendar, first and last name, or by organization. After checking in, users can access the Courtroom Broadcasts feature from either the Check-In Confirmation Page or the My Checked-In Hearings page.
Please note that individual courtroom broadcasts will be enabled at the discretion of the judicial officer. Additionally, photographing or recording these broadcasts is prohibited under Local Rule 2.17 and California Rules of Court 1.150. LACC is intended for remote appearances by case participants only, including litigants, attorneys, and witnesses. LACC is not available for public or media observation. All nonconfidential court proceedings remain open for in-person attendance by the public.
About LACC
The addition of the Courtroom Broadcasts feature aligns with the Court’s broader efforts to improve remote hearings with LACC, which introduced a new simplified platform across multiple litigation types.
Additional information about LACC 3.0, including an updated reference guide, video tutorial, and a technical specifications document, are available for court users.
LACC promotes convenience and choice with audio and video remote appearance options, eliminating driving, parking, and childcare costs and saving commute time to courthouses. LACC is available on Windows PC, macOS, iOS, iPadOS and Android devices that support Microsoft Teams.
