LASC: SUPERIOR COURT OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY PREVIEWS COMPLETELY REDESIGNED USER-CENTRIC WEBSITE SET TO LAUNCH JULY 1

New Website to Launch at www.LACourt.ca.gov, Featuring Significant Usability Enhancements and All-New Design

The Superior Court of Los Angeles County is presenting a public preview of its newly redesigned, user-focused website ahead of its official launch on July 1, 2025, Presiding Judge Sergio C. Tapia II announced today.

The public preview, available here or on the Court’s social media channels, offers a first look at the website’s new design and web address.

The new website will officially launch at www.LACourt.ca.gov beginning on July 1, 2025. The new domain will enhance trust and consistency across government institutions, as the majority of California government entities use the “.ca.gov” domain, which is exclusive to California government institutions. The thoughtfully designed website aims to improve access to court services and information, effectively serving the needs of court users, litigants, justice partners, and the legal community.

“The launch of our new website represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to meet the needs of court users, wherever they are. It provides an accessible and easy-to-navigate website that serves as the Court’s digital home for vital court services and information,” Presiding Judge Tapia said. “This new website includes important user-centric improvements designed to make court information and services more easily accessible. We will continue to use technology to serve our community better and to ensure that justice is readily accessible to everyone across different devices and platforms.”

Introducing www.LACourt.ca.gov

Some of the key features of the Court’s new website include:

  • A streamlined homepage with quick links to commonly used resources and features.
  • A user-focused, responsive design optimized for all mobile devices.
  • Updated content with clearer explanations to improve accessibility for all court users, including self-represented litigants.
  • An interactive “CourtHelp” conversational tool that allows users to engage directly with court services and receive personalized responses to frequently asked questions.
  • Enhanced and expanded translation capabilities powered by Google Translate.

LACourt.ca.gov will be officially available on July 1, 2025, with www.LACourt.org automatically redirecting users to the new website. The Court’s email addresses will remain the same for now. Emails sent to @lacourt.ca.gov will automatically forward to the Court’s legacy domain at @lacourt.org. The Court will provide information regarding the complete transition of emails to the new @lacourt.ca.gov domain soon. Court users and justice partners should update specific website links accordingly.

“The Court’s redesigned website features more than just a new look. Rather, the launch of www.LACourt.ca.gov is a foundational step in our mission to make the Court more accessible, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the public,” Executive Officer/Clerk of Court David W. Slayton said. “In developing this new website, which took nearly two years, we reexamined our entire library of over 1,500 pages of online content with a critical lens to ensure we are presenting information and services thoughtfully and intuitively to our community. By centering the website on the needs of the user, the Court is ensuring that every visitor – whether a legal professional, justice partner or member of the public – can more easily find the information and services they need.”

Support and Engagement

To support court users with this transition, the Court will release a series of short explainer videos highlighting key features and tools of the redesigned website. These videos are designed to help users navigate the site more effectively and will be available across the Court’s social media platforms.

The Court will also engage with justice partners, stakeholders, and partner organizations by providing updated information to assist with replacing outdated links with new ones that reference the Court’s new website, web address, or revitalized resources.

The launch of the Court’s new website aligns with the Court’s concerted efforts to modernize court systems and services, meeting court users where they are through technological innovation and convenience. The Court’s existing website receives an average of 2.1 million visitors per month, making it one of the most frequently accessed public-facing court resources.
