TULARE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT: REDUCTION IN COURT REPORTER SERVICES

Court Notice

TULARE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT: REDUCTION IN COURT REPORTER SERVICES

Due to the ongoing statewide shortage of certified shorthand reporters and pursuant to Local Rule 115, beginning July 1, 2025, the Tulare County Superior Court will no longer regularly provide official court reporters in the following case types unless otherwise noted on the court’s website:

  • Unlimited Civil
  • Probate, including Guardianships
  • Family Law, except contempt actions

Official court reporters will continue to be regularly provided in Felony, Juvenile (Delinquency and Dependency), and LPS Conservatorship matters.

Parties may arrange to have a certified court reporter present at their own expense for a hearing for the case types wherein a court reporter is not normally provided by the court pursuant to California Rule of Court 2.956(c).

In appropriate circumstances, and when a court reporter is unavailable, the court may order that a hearing be electronically recorded using the department’s approved electronic recording system pursuant to California Rule of Court 2.952
