LASC: A New Look Coming Next Month to the “filed” Stamp on Documents Submitted Electronically

Court Notice

A NEW LOOK COMING NEXT MONTH TO THE “FILED” STAMP ON DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY

Effective April 1, anyone who submits electronically filed (efiled) documents will notice a new “FILED” stamp affixed to the document images. The current format is a ribbon at the top of each efiled page. The new format (an example is located in the link provided at the bottom of this notice) will look similar to the traditional “FILED” stamp found on hard-copy documents filed in person:

The stamp will appear in the designated “FOR COURT USE ONLY” space of forms, legal pleadings, and other filings. In some instances, the new “FILED” stamp may be used on a new cover page instead of in the “FOR COURT USE ONLY” section. Additionally, some efiled documents also will include the case number assignment, if a new case is created, and the date and time of an auto-scheduled hearing date as part of the “FILED” stamp.

The new format continues to adhere to requirements for “FILED” stamped documents under Government Code section 69846.5 and California Rules of Court, Rule 8.77(e).
