REMOTE DEPOSITION & CONFERENCING OPTIONS AT FIRST LEGAL

Deposition and Conferencing Options at First Legal

As a result of the coronavirus, courts around the country have shut down. Law schools have transitioned to online learning and even BigLaw firms have reported pay reductions and layoffs. Legal professionals must now turn to remote technologies in order to keep the justice system operational and advocate for their clients.

At First Legal, we’re here to support you from File Thru Trial™. We proudly provide the following remote deposition and conferencing options:

Zoom Enabled Virtual Conferences

With our Zoom enabled virtual conferences, you’ll have access to a unique shareable link for the session. Up to 100 participants can join your conference, and each participant will be able to test their connection the day before your deposition. During the proceedings, you can control which participants you’ll see by selecting a gallery view or active speaker view. We also have the option for a professional videographer to set up and monitor the virtual conference from start to finish.

Complete Remote Videography

Legal videography is an extremely valuable tool that allows you to capture subtleties that transcription alone cannot record. When played for a judge or jury, these video recordings reveal compelling details like visual cues and changes in intonation. Most importantly, our advanced video synchronization technology makes it simple to create video clips that are synchronized with the official transcript.

When you opt for complete remote videography, you’ll be working with a seasoned expert who can help you manage everything from picture-in-picture options to participant framing. Your videographer will also help to pause the recording when you need to go off the record.

Remote Exhibit Management

If you’re working with digital exhibits, you can choose to manage exhibits yourself or have a videographer manage them for you in real-time. When you manage the exhibits yourself, you’ll need to take responsibility for sharing files with all participants before the deposition. Alternatively, you could also choose to share your screen in real-time. We recommend partnering with one of our videographers for fully remote exhibit management so you’re free to focus on your witness.

Real-time Transcript Streaming

First Legal Depositions will stream the reporter’s real-time feed to all parties on two separate platforms. Using dual platforms helps to reduce the risk of technical issues (including home office internet provider disruption) and to ensure maximum reliability and continuity of service.

Final Thoughts

At First Legal, we are proud to offer you a diverse set of remote deposition tools, such as conference calling, videography, and transcript streaming. When you’re ready to proceed, our scheduling team will coordinate the best date and time with all parties and our technical team will assist in connecting all participants via their personal computers.
